BFC: Virginia Woolf’s Night and Day

London 1910: a passionate astronomer does everything she can to avoid romantic love and marriage. Brilliant Katherine Hilbery resists her parents’ plans for marriage, resolved to pursue her passion for astronomy. Forced into an engagement by her father, her precious independence is threatened. Her world begins to expand when she befriends a suffragette called Mary Datchet and crosses paths with Ralph Denham, a young working-class editor who is helping Mrs Hilbery with a family history. As romantic loyalties shift, Katherine begins to question everything she has been taught about love, ambition, and how to claim her place in the world.
