BFC: Sunny Dancer

Iva (Bella Ramsey) is a 17-year-old leukaemia survivor, who’s been in remission for 10 months. Since she struggles to maintain friendships at school following her diagnosis, her well-meaning parents sign her up for a 4-week summer camp for youngsters with a similar health problem – as if conquering cancer wasn’t hard enough. Iva calls it “chemo camp”, but she manages to find unexpected friends among a group of misfits and has a summer she’ll never forget. It may not sound like it, but this is a heart-warming coming-of-age movie, described as “a joyous celebration of youth”.
